Daybook ~ January 25th

For Tuesday, January 25, 2011~

Outside my window~
the sun is beautiful

I am hearing~
my family working and playing

I am thinking~
about my Hubbie

I am thankful~
for God's protection

I am remembering~
the times I spent riding in the "school van"
talking, studying, laughing...we had an hour drive each way

I am reading~
my Bible
Decision Points by President George Bush

I am hoping~
that my "to-do" list gets done today  :)

On my mind~
is my mom who has not been feeling well

From the learning rooms~
reading and phonics practice for "D"
science test tomorrow for "R"

Noticing that~
the cleaner the house, the happier I am  :)

Wondering~
if we will get some measurable snow this winter

I am praying~
for my country and her leaders

I am creating~
some Valentine's Day plans

Pondering these words~
Psalm 48:1~Great is the LORD, and greatly to be
praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness.

From the kitchen~
spaghetti & meatballs with salad
cheesecake for dessert

Around the house~
all my sunflower things are back in the kitchen,
and that makes me smile!

One of my favorite things~
is a quiet evening at home with my family

A few plans for the rest of the week~
grocery store today or tomorrow
church on Wednesday
ladies meeting on Thursday
painting on Friday
basketball league on Saturday
Bible Builders on Saturday

From my picture journal~
Christmas amaryllis in bloom

Thank you, Lord~

For today, Tuesday, January 18, 2011~

Outside my window~
the ground and trees are covered with ice

I am thankful~
that my Hubbie did not have to drive on the icy roads this morning

I am thinking~
that the Lord is good...all the time

I am hearing~
the kids playing with trains

I am remembering~
the time when I was a child that we got three feet of snow...
and school was cancelled for days!

I am reading~
Feminine Appeal by Carolyn Mahaney
Decision Points by President George Bush

I am hoping~
that we are still able to have our homeschool group today

On my mind~
is my Hubbie

From the learning rooms~
we are nearing the end of the first semester...
and that means all the grading needs to be finished soon!

Noticing that~
since the Christmas decorations are put away,
the house is "back to normal"

Wondering~
why it has taken me so long do write a Daybook this year?

I am praying~
for a blogging friend and
for the Lord to keep working on my heart

I am creating~with Hubbie's help~
a new master bedroom  :)
We have not done this room at all and are
excited about the changes that are coming!

From the kitchen~
Sunday~cheeseburgers, baked beans
Monday~ roast, noodles, gravy, green bean casserole
for dessert this week, I made a carrot cheesecake (YUM!)
Tuesday~pork BBQ, coleslaw, pumpkin muffins
Wednesday~ham and cheese sandwiches
Thursday~burritos, black bean soup
Friday~homemade chicken tenders, baked macaroni & cheese
Saturday~chili

Around the house~
school is getting done,
Hubbie is working from home today  :)

One of my favorite things~
is having some extra time to spend with my Hubbie

A few plans for the rest of the week~
homeschool group today?
church on Wednesday
basketball league on Saturday

From my picture journal~
a pumpkin cheesecake that we had in the fall
(can you tell from the tablecloth?)

this has become one of our favorites  :)

When I Awoke...

Do you ever wake up and almost immediately have something on your mind? Well, that happened to me today. When I awoke this morning, the following song was running through my mind...it served as a reminder of how I am to depend fully on the Lord Jesus. If I ask Him to, He will guide me through each and every day...through each and every circumstance, trial, or blessing that comes my way.

Be Thou My Vision
an ancient Irish hymn

Be Thou my vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art.
Thou my best thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee, Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Be Thou my battle-shield, sword for my fight,
Be Thou my dignity, Thou my delight.
Thou my soul's shelter, Thou my high tower.
Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.

Riches I heed not, nor man's empty praise,
Thou mine inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

High King of heaven, my victory won,
May I reach heaven's joys, O bright heav'ns Son!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my vision, O ruler of all.
