~From the Past~

Upon doing some clean-up and organization around the house, I found some old reading books. In one of the books is the following:

JEFFERSON'S TEN RULES
President Thomas Jefferson

Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today.

Never trouble another for what you can do yourself.

Never spend your money before you have earned it.

Never buy what you don't want because it is cheap.

Pride costs more than hunger, thirst, and cold.

We seldom repent of having eaten too little.

Nothing is troublesome that we do willingly.

How much pain the evils have cost us that have never happened.

Take things always by the smooth handle.

When angry, count ten before you speak; if very angry, count a hundred.

Here are a few pictures from President Jefferson's home, Monticello.

~Welcome!~

~Beautiful view of the home~

~Pretty cool~

~The kitchen~

~A working garden, similar to what
President Jefferson had when he lived at Monticello~

Thanks for stopping by today! :)

While thinking of the first rule, I was going to put up a comment today, but I was thinking about waiting until tomorrow......

I sometimes fall into the "Never buy what you don't need because it is cheap" - I guess this is another way of saying why add to the clutter!

Many good remarks that we all need to think about. I also enjoyed remembering through pictures, our tour of Monticello. That was a nice trip!

Have a great day!

Love,
"Hubbie"

This is a great list that I need to copy and post in my house ... especially the ones about procrastination and not speaking when you are angry.

Love the pics ... I'd love to visit there one day.

So did you guys take a trip there recently? Can you believe I've lived here all my life and never ventured out there?? Looks beautiful!

Love those thoughts...esp. never buy something just 'cause its cheap (my rendition) and we rarely lament having eaten too little!! Great to remember:)

See you tonight:)

I love those thoughts! :) I think I will have to copy them and hang them around here somewhere! :)
How far is Monticello from here? It looks like a nice place. Was it expensive?
